business A local janitor was faced with an unusual situation. Several of the first year high school students were experimenting with makeup in the girls’ bathroom each morning before class started. Although there was nothing unusual with this, in and of itself, the girls took it a step further. They left their lipstick prints on the bathroom mirrors. This resulted in a considerable amount of time and grief for the janitor to clean. Having asked the girls to refrain from this type of behaviour without success, the janitor finally took matters into his own hands. One morning, before class, he knocked on the door of the bathroom and entered. Without a word, he walked to the bathroom stall, bunched up a couple of rags and plunged them into the toilet, scooping up as much water as he could before walking past the girls and back to the mirrors to clean them. It’s just business, just your job. Maybe so but every day we are faced with challenges to get the job done. Most often things run smoothly but sometimes we need to illustrate a little ingenuity, just as this janitor did. Regardless of what you do, there’s always an opportunity to explore your creativity within the realm of productivity.
